  • Pull the safety pin from the handle and the tamper seal (if required)
  • Aim the discharge point (a nozzle or horn, usually) to the base of the fire
  • Squeeze the levels to discharge the extinguisher
  • Sweep the discharge point back and forth across the base of the fire.
